Georgia to present significant resolution to OSCE PA

The OSCE may adopt a special resolution regarding the two breakaway regions of Georgia, Abkhazia and Tskhinvali Region, occupied by Russia. The Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE will be held in Oslo in summer. Georgian vice speaker, who heads the Georgian governmental delegation to the OSCE PA, announced after the meeting with the Joao Soares today, that Georgian delegation would present a very significant document on the occupied territories of Georgia at the OSCE PA this summer. He said the agenda of the Oslo session was agreed with the president of the OSCE PA, Joao Soares, who pays official visit to Georgia. Mr. Soares and Georgian authorities discussed situation in Georgia`s occupied regions, topics tied with secure repatriation of IDPs to their homes, ignorance of Russia to fulfil its obligations stipulated in the French-brokered ceasefire agreement and the chances of restoring the OSCE mission in Georgia. Gigi Tsereteli said that the OSCE parliamentary assembly should be intensively involved in the process of conflict resolution to speed up this process. The president of the OSCE PA and other members of the delegation expressed their readiness to observe self-government elections scheduled for May 30 2010 in Georgia.
