Noghaideli leaves for Moscow
09.03.10 15:39
The leader of the Movement for Fair Georgia, Zurab Noghaideli has left for Russia, his ally, MP Petre Mamradze told reporters today. He said Noghaideli would hold negotiations in Moscow regarding the most topical and painful issues for Georgia, including the improvement of country`s economic situation, possibility of returning Georgian products to Russian markets and the resumption of air communication between Georgia and Russia. Noghaideli will return from Moscow on March 11. While Noghaideli and Burjanadze are replacing each other at the tables of negotiation with Russian senior authorities, famous people of Georgian society write letters to newspapers and speak about the notion of traitors, quoting passages from the history. Writer Revaz Cheishvili says that notion of traitors is not a novelty in Georgian history; there had always been one in certain period of time. He says the politics of Zurab Noghaideli is less harmful for Georgia, but very dangerous for his own future. As for Nino Burjanadze, the writer says she is a top traitor today, who travels to the Russian capital for personal ambitions. The head of the Georgian Musical Society, Manana Akhmeteli has also disapproved the frequent visits of Georgian politicians to Moscow. She recollected the words of a Russian MP, Zhirinovsky, who said `Georgians will creep to Russia themselves` and so it happens today. Movie editor, Levan Korinteli said `negotiations with Russia` was a code term, which meant `treason`.
