Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili awarded the member of the Ukrainian parliament [RADA] with the prize of brilliance. Iakov Tabanchik was awarded with the presidential prize for his contribution to reinforcement of Georgia-Ukrainian relations, popularization of Georgian culture, and support to Georgian people and the fruitful civil and charitable activities. Iakov Tabanchik chairs the subcommittee of the parliamentary committee for combating organized crime and corruption.
Former officials of the Georgian Education Ministry have been sent to two-month pre-trial custody. The court trial for Davit Mamardashvili and Zviad Kikvadze was held at Tbilisi City Court on Thursday.
