Saakashvili discusses infrastructural projects with governors

President Saakashvili held meeting with governors of regions of Georgia in the village of Salkhino of Martvili district in Western Georgia on Wednesday. Infrastructural projects that are going on or planned to be implemented were discussed at the meeting.
It was said at the meeting that the government intends to spend Gel 2 billion on development of regions of Georgia, in result of what large cities of the country will be provided with unceasing water supplies.
One of the priorities of the government will also be construction of roads in Georgia. The Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure is already working on Ruisi-Sveneti express highway, Ruisi-Rikoti, Zestaponi-Rikoti and Anaklia-Batumi roads.
The Georgian side also promises to complete construction of the road from Marabda (23 kms from Tbilisi) to Kartsakhi at the border of Turkey in few months. 3100 people are expected to be employed at the construction.
At the meeting with governors, Mikheil Saakashvili received detailed information about the ongoing projects within the Village Program. As reported, the biggest amount of corn was seeded in Kakheti and Imereti Regions.
Saakashvili commissioned governors to create new projects and intensify cooperation with investors that can assist overcoming the employment problem in the regions and villages.
Saakashvili also discussed the tourist potential of Kakheti Region at the meeting in Salkhino. As reported, with assistance of the World Bank, several large-scale projects were implemented for development of the tourism sector. Infrastructure is expected to be completely changed at Kvareli Lake in order to make the resort accessible for all guests.
