A marathon devoted to the international Olympics Day and European youth Olympics in Tbilisi 2015 was held in the center of Georgia`s capital on Sunday. The Olympic race started at Radisson Blue Iveria Hotel.
Along with young sportsmen, the president of Georgian National Olympic Committee, Georgia`s Olympic champions, acting and veteran sportsmen and other famous faces participated in the marathon.
Georgian wrestlers have won two gold medals and the titles of world champions at the World Championship in Bucharest. The members of the wrestlers` junior team, Revaz Nadareishvili and Shota Gogisvanidze defeated all of their rivals and became champions.
The champion of Georgia, FC Zestafoni has played 1-1 draw with Austria`s best team SK Sturm Graz. Nikoloz Gelashvili broke the deadlock after 74 minutes of this UEFA Champions League third round qualifying first leg.
Georgia u20 basketball team has become the champion of the B division. The team trained by Davit Ustiashvili, has taken the leading position in the EU Championship qualification round with 22 participants.
Football Club Tbilisi Dynamo defeated Welsh Llanelli 5:0 at the BOris Baichadze national staduim on Thursday. Spanish winger Xisco struck twice as Dinamo Tbilisi overturned Llanelli`s first-leg Europa League qualifying lead to set-up a tie with KR Reykjavik.
