Adjara wins 3 awards at American Academy Award Ceremony

Georgia`s one of the most attractive regions, Adjara has won three prizes at the American Academy Award Ceremony held in Cannes, where the president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili was also present. With these prizes, Georgia has in fact become the winner of the tourism sphere Oscar.
The ceremony of handing over the five-star diamond prize was held at the Hotel Martinez and it was Georgia`s first prize at the annual ceremony of the American Academy Awards. According to the decision of the American Academy, the region won three prizes: Batumi, as the best new resort city; Adjara Autonomic Republic as the friendliest region towards investors; prize for an innovative governing was handed over to the head of the Adjara government Levan Vashalomidze.
`It’s great honor for me to be here, because Cannes and Nice are the cities which remind me Batumi. Distinctive British, Italian, German, and the architects are working to create a distinctive architecture in the city. Batumi is the only Black Sea city which has such beautiful beach,” – Mikheil Saakashvili said.
