Police arrest organized crime gang

Law enforcers have opened two facts of armed robberies which occurred in Shida Kartli Region three years ago. Police have arrested the members of a crime gang - Revaz Ambroladze, Levan Akhalkatsi, Davit Gverdtsiteli and Gela Okropiridze.
According to the investigation, on November 19, 2009, these persons assaulted an internet-cafe in the city of Gori. They intruded into the cafe with masks and machine guns, threatened the consumers and the staff, whom they bound and stole away precious parts of computers. The same gang assaulted the family of Abesalom Makharashvili in the village of Vaka, Khashuri district and took away $3,200, 1000 GEL and three mobile phones.
The police have seized the guns in the houses of the suspects, who have already pleaded guilty. Investigation continues.
