Davit Bakradze speaks about Kutaisi development plans

Bells rang in all churches of Kutaisi today, where the locals are marking the day of the city. Bishop Calistrate conducted holy rite at the Bagrati Temple, where the restoration works are still underway. Services were conducted at every church of the city on this day. Parliament speaker Davit Bakradze arrived in Kutaisi today to attend the events dedicated to this day. Bakradze spoke about the development plans for Georgia`s second largest city with journalists.
`Kutaisi has never met this day with such large-scale plans and prospects of development. This year there will be an event of the decade indeed - the Bagrati Temple will be opened after restoration works are over. Parliament will also move here and thus the city will regain the status of administrative and political centre of the country. Many other things are planned here and the goal of all this is to make the city better, more attractive and more comfortable for its residents with more chances of employment,` Davit Bakradze said.

Parliament speaker has made a special announcement on behalf of the parliament regarding the violent demonstration on Rustaveli Avenue today. Davit Usupashvili called on the protestors, police and whole society to keep order and stability.
