Ramaz Shengelia dies of heart attack at the age 55

Famous Georgian footballer, one of the best forwards in Georgian football, Ramaz Shengelia died of sudden hearty attack at the age of 55. Ramaz Shengelia played in the FC Torpedo and FC Tbilisi Dinamo at various times. He became the champion of the USSR in 1978 at the same time winning the title of the best forward and best footballer of the year. In 1980 Shengelia won European Championship within the U20 team of USSR. In 1981, the victory of the Cup of Cups by Dinamo was up to Shengelia too. Ramaz Shengelia also played World Championship within the USSR team.
Headquarters of the International Olympic Committee and the government of Switzerland thanks Georgian government for its decision to participate in the Sochi Winter Olympics 2014. The letter has been delivered to the government of Georgia by the ambassador of Switzerland to Georgia Gunther Bechler.
