Opposition coalition responds to Interior Ministry

Representatives of the Georgian Dream opposition coalition responded today to the secret recordings released by the interior ministry coalition on charges of misusing their authorities, one of the leaders of the Free Democrats (the member party of the Georgian Dream Coalition) told media today.
"This is a provocation staged by the authorities. On the other side, I want to say that our organization, as a political organization, also our coalition is an open organization, which always acts within the law and this kind of information does not interest us, we don`t try to gain information in this kind of way. We are sorry that members of our organization may become victims of this provocation", he said.
Two members of the opposition coalition Georgian Dream were detained on charges of misusing their authorities today. Reportedly, the head of the Abkhazian youth branch of the coalition Irakli Pertenava and the executive secretary of the Abkhazian branch of the Free Democrats party Zurab Pipia conducted negotiations with the officer of the counter-intelligence department of the Interior Ministry Kakha Baghaturia, trying to win him over in order to get more information about the work of the interior ministry, ongoing operative-searching operations.
Ministry of Interior released the secret recordings of the dialogues among the suspects and the officer today. In one of the videos, Baghaturia tells the opposition activists that the ministry has imported special listening devices, which can be installed in various attributes of everyday use.
