OSCE Parliamentary Assembly will vote a resolution on Georgia in Monaco today. The document entitled Situation in Georgia was prepared by a Polish lawmaker. It also reviews situation in Georgia`s breakaway Abkhazia and South Ossetia - both qualified as occupied territories of Georgia.
In this resolution, the OSCE parliamentary assembly reaffirms support to Georgia`s territorial integrity and recognizes its sovereignty in its internationally recognized borders. OSCE calls on Russia to respect international legislation and fulfill the terms of ceasefire agreement signed in 2008.
`Georgia is one of the most important resolutions during the annual session in Monaco. And the aim of the creation of the resolution was to emphasize and welcome democratization of the situation in Georgia and also to strengthen the look at the situation in Georgia before the upcoming parliamentary elections. We support Georgia`s territorial integrity and believe that the ceasefire agreement has not been fulfilled completely. We wanted to raise the issue before the elections,` Polish lawmaker said.
