Russian Foreign Minister has commented on the statement made by the Swedish Foreign Minister during his recent visit to Georgia - Carl Bildt warned Georgian opposition about the possible counter-productivity of street demonstrations. Carl Bildt said the approach of some opposition leaders that the results of the election should be decided not at the polling stations but in the streets afterwards was quite strange and called on all political parties to recognize the results of the election.
The representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Aleksandr Lukashevich says that the Sweden Minister has always firmly supporting Arab revolutions and street protests around the world, but this time he has expressed a different position about demonstrations and freedom of expression.
`His attempt to determine the possible reaction on possible violation of democratic norms in Georgia in advance, should be assessed as an inconsistent approach to the issue,` Lukashevich said and added that Carl Bildt would have to make definitions about this position during his upcoming visit to Moscow.
