Inga Grigolia, who is one of the leaders of the Christian Democratic Movement, running in the parliamentary elections from Gldani district, has recalled her candidacy from elections. Inga Grigolia took this decision after the CEC ruling on new regulations of video control of elections last night. Grigolia posted on his facebook page to explain her decision.
`Though the new regulation of CEC on video coverage of election procedures significantly differs from the version proposed by the government and I hope that CDM will make definitions about why they have supported this last version, because I was asserting that CDM members of the CEC would not vote for it, I keep my word and lift my candidacy from elections,` Grigolia wrote.
Another leader of the CDM Levan Vepkhvadze has commented on Grigolia`s decision, saying she was under serious psychological pressure last night and she needed to look into the details of the new regulation, which as he asserts does not violate rights either of voters or media. Vepkhvadze believes that Grigolia will change her decision.
