Prosecutor`s office releases special statement

Prosecutor`s Office of Georgia has released video footage depicting meetings of former Georgian politician and film director Goga Khaindrava with Georgian crime bosses in Paris. Prosecutor`s office is reporting that the negotiations between the fugitive criminals and former politician aimed at organizing state revolt in Georgia. The video footage and photos handed over to Georgian government by the French law enforcers was released today.
French side is reporting that these negotiations aimed at overturning the government in Georgia, return of criminal authorities to the country and formation of illegal military organization.
Prosecutor`s office has released an official statement today:
`A few weeks ago, Georgian side was provided information from the Republic of France law enforcement structures, which refer to the issues of Georgia`s national security.
Today, on September 26, Georgian law enforcers were handed over these materials under the motion of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia and with the sanction of the French judiciary.
According to the information provided by the French counterparts, an agreement was made between the representative of Georgian opposition and the crime bosses standing in the rule of the international criminal network, which aimed at causing instability and violence, restoration of the influence of criminal bosses and formation of a criminal armed guards like `Mkhedrioni`.
Georgian Prosecutor`s Office conducts intensive investigation on aforementioned case,` the statement of the prosecutor`s office says.
