Ivanishvili pledges to maintain Geneva negotiations
08.10.12 17:03
Bidzina Ivanishvili`s administration has published a special statement on the official page on facebook of the future prime minister. The statement is about the plans of the new government regarding the continuation of Geneva internationally mediated peace negotiations. `As it is known, the next meeting of Geneva regarding the Georgia`s conflict issues will be held on October 11-12. We want to announce that Georgian Dream coalition entirely supports the peaceful process which is in progress with the co-chairmanship of UN and OSCE. Right after formation of a new government of Georgia, we`ll take intensive participation in these meetings and cooperate with all participants of the Geneva format constructively, considering the interests of Georgia`s territorial integrity and sovereignty. In the transitional period, we are prepared to cooperate with the Georgian delegation participating in these negotiations, in order to provide the transition of duties and authorities to our representatives by the current authorities in accordance with democratic standards, considering the necessity of negotiations. In addition, we should emphasize the positive role of the EUMM in the process of maintaining stability and security and we express our full intention for further cooperation,` the statement says.
