EU Ambassador to Georgia Philip Dimitrov met today with Maia Panjikidze at the office of the Georgian Dream coalition having won the parliamentary elections in the country. The ambassador discussed with the coalition`s candidate for foreign minister the current situation in teh country, including the process of handing over the authority to the winning political force and the country`s foreign policy, as well as prospects of Georgia`s European integration.
"Georgia`s agenda regarding the European integration is very important. There are some issues, which should be resolved very shortly, therefore we have organized this meeting with future ministers for foreign and internal issues, also the European integration issues. We`ve discussed the issues, which should be resolved at the very beginning of the new government`s mandate", Philip Dimitrov said.

President of Georgia has released a special statement on his facebook page regarding the detention of the UNM secretary general Vano Merabishvili and president`s representative to Kakheti Region, former minister of health care Zurab Chiaberashvili.
