Parliament staffed six factions at yesterday`s session

Lawmakers have staffed six factions at the first session of the parliament of the 8th convocation on Sunday. The Georgian Dream Coalition, which has the majority of 85 seats in parliament, will have three factions - Georgian Dream, chaired by Zakaria Kutsnashvili, Republicans, chaired by davit Berdzenishvili and Free Democrats - chaired by Irakli Chikovani. As for the minority represented by the United National Movement, it will also have three factions, though the head of the majority will be the former speaker of the parliament, Davit Bakradze. The UNM`s faction United National Movement will be chaired by Giorgi Gabashvili; National Movement - Regions will be chaired by Akaki Bobokhidze and the National Movement - Majoritarians faction will be chaired by Tariel Londaridze. Though, there are five MPs from the United National Movement, who have refused to join any factions; they will work in the parliament as independent MPs, as the minimum number of the lawmakers necessary for forming a faction is six.
