Candidate of the minister of economics Giorgi Kvirikashvili met with the workers of the Chiatura coal mine, who have been on strike during past few days demanding the growth of their salaries and improvement of their working conditions. Giorgi Kvirikashvili has also talked with the director general of the Georgian Manganese, which is the management company of the coal mine, but no specific decision was taken. The miners are demanding growth of their salaries with 100%, while director general says the salaries will grow but not with 100%. The only issue which was agreed at yesterday`s meeting was the arrival of the representatives of the technical and construction monitoring agency of the economic ministry to Chiatura, who will be in charge of exploring the security norms in the coal mine. The protestors refuse to suspend the strike until their demands are satisfied.
