Cabinet discussed amendments to the state budget 2013

02.11.12 15:04

Cabinet of Minister assembled at the Government`s chancellery today to discuss the amendments to the state budget 2013. Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili held a special briefing today and announced the projects and the official structures, the funding of which will be reduced next year.
Prime Minister focused on the funds, which were spent on the president`s palace and called upon Mikheil Saakashvili to l eave his residence and move to the presidential residence arranged at the government`s chancellery.
`We`ll reduce the funding of the expenditures of the president`s administration, because these expenditures are huge, only 800,000 GEL is paid for the electricity consumed by the residence. It is unimaginable to spend such funds on president, when there are so many poor people in the country. 800,000 GEL is spent monthly from the budget of the defense ministry for one plane of the president. We have not clarified the funds spent on the second plane of the president yet,` Ivanishvili said.
The Prime Minister also announced about reducing funds to the Tbilisi government, arguing serious sums were spent on dubious projects, constructions, shows and other events from the Tbilisi budget.
Bidzina Ivanishvili also said the funding of the state Security Council would be also reduced as it reached 30 million GEL, while other official structures of the same number of staff had only a 1, 5 million GEL funding annually.
