Striking municipal bus drivers deliver ultimatum to Tbilisi government
Drivers of municipal buses of Tbilisi have delivered an ultimatum to the local government of the city. They urge for resignation of head of the city transport service Mr. Akaki Jokhadze and director of Tbilisi Transport Company JSC Mr. Levan Koplatadze.
The rally participants said if the two persons do not resign, drivers of other kinds of transport will join teh strike as well.
The drivers are not going back to their work until their demands are satisfied.
The municipal bus drivers went on strike on November 8. They presented a list of 16 demands to the government of Tbilisi. An agreement was reached on 15 of them, however, the 16th issue - growth of salaries is still unsolved. The municipal officials say the growth of salaries depends on the funds, which should be allocated in the state budget, but currently it is impossible.
