Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili has said that "from today" he will work closely with his bitter political rival President Mikheil Saakashvili - the Reuters is reporting.
In an interview with Reuters on Wednesday, he pledged to start a more constructive approach.
`Starting from today, I personally will address and have relations towards Saakashvili and the previous government the way Georgian culture ... deserves," he said `We will not address them the way they deserve, as they have acted against us as the Georgian opposition,` Ivanishvili concluded.
President Saakashvili has also said he is ready for cooperation with his political opponent. Saakashvili expressed his hope that the cooperation would take place during his visit to Brussels.
Saakashvili said it was his authority to appoint senior military commanders, however, to cooperate with opponents, he handed over this authority to the new government. Therefore, Saakashvili hopes that on this precedent the relations would be built up in the future too.
