President Saakashvili congratulates Armenian Apostolic Church on Christmas
Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili has congratulated parish of the Armenian Apostolic Church on Christmas.
"Variety is the cornerstone the strength of our state is based on. Ethnic Armenians living in Georgia have make a special contribution to the reconstruction of our country and its democratic development", the president said in the post on his Facebook page.
Mikheil Saakashvili reiterated the greatest merits of the oldest apostolic churches and the various nations living together.
Armenians celebrate Christmas on January 6 as a public holiday in Armenia. It also coincides with the Epiphany. Traditionally, Armenians fast during the week leading up to Christmas.
