Patriarch`s Christmas Epistle
07.01.13 10:30
Catholicos Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II reminds the worshippers the essential meaning of Christmas and expresses his deepest concern about the reality that this holiday is only a reason of celebration for one part of the society - Patriarch`s Christmas epistle was introduced to worshippers in the Holy Trinity Cathedral last night after His Holiness conducted a holy liturgy.
`There is not a single family of Christians all around the world, which does not celebrate Christmas, but it is a fact that for many of them the real reason of this joy and the responsibility, which this holiday lays on each of us is unknown,` Patriarch said in the Epistle, which is focused on responsibility and the meaning of the respect of true values.
`We only notice the people around us, whom we love or hate and other people are left without attention. Our guilt is that we do not know our past well as well as our history, but this knowledge helps us to keep closer to our roots,` Patriarch wrote in the Epistle.
Christmas liturgy was conducted at every Orthodox Church of Georgia.
