Heavy snow causes problems on roads

It snows almost in all regions of Georgia since last night. The heavy precipitation has caused serious problems on roads not only on highways, but in Tbilisi as well. The municipal service of cleaning says bad weather has not caused road accidents, as their brigades are covering the roads with technical salt, though there is a danger that low temperature may freeze roads later in the evening.
Restrictions have been enforced on Gombori Pass, where the road brigades are working non-stop to clean up the roads and avoid blocking up the highway. Patrol police, tracktors are mobilized to provide secure movement of vehicles.
Jvari pass has been closed due to bad weather. Road Department has reported that there is still a danger of avalanche. It still snows in Gudauri resort. Vehicles are allowed to drive to that direction only with wheel chains.
No rectristions have been imposed on other directions, road department has said.
