Okruashvili may be released from court hall today

Former minister of defense and interior Irakli Okruashvili may be released from court hall in case the court does not recognize him guilty and change the preventive measure of detention. The court is discussing the case of negligence against Okruashvili.
Yesterday, the court satisfied the motion of the prosecutor and lifted charges against Okruashvili on the case of Geocell company shares; he has been also lifted charges on misuse of authority. The former minister, who was arrested in the Tbilisi airport after arriving from France, where he lived during several years as a political refugee, was also recognized not guilty in the case of forming illegal armed group.
All witnesses in the case changed their testimony and said their previous testimonies were given against the former minister under pressure. Another person convicted with the same charges, Ioseb Giguashvili was also freed of charges - he was bailed out and released from court hall yesterday.
