United National Movement objects to the statements made by Georgian Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze in Lithuania about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and calls on the Prime Minister to dismiss her. Akaki Minashvili of the parliamentary minority says the foreign policy of the new government complicated relations with all neighbors and partner countries and therefore, Prime Minister should replace the Foreign Minister.
`Two months after she assumed the office and after the new government began to work, Georgia has problems with all of its neighbors including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, also with United States, EU and the NATO. Therefore, we are summoning the minister to the session of the faction to answer all our questions and explain why all this has happened. And we call on the Prime Minister to dismiss Maia Panjikidze,` Akaki Minashvili said.
Members of the Cabinet abstained from commenting on the complaints of the minority saying they have heard nothing about the conflict.
Majority MP Zviad Dzidziguri has also commented on the position of the minority. He says there is nothing out of the ordinary in their demand to summon the minister to the faction session as it is the legal right of the minority.
