Interior Minister comments on scandal of young jazzman

Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili has commented on the scandal of interrogation of young jazzman Beka Gochiashvili, who complained about pressure during his presence in the Saburtalo police department. Gochiashvili was questioned regarding the robbery of an apartment in Tbilisi.
Interior Minister Irakli Gharibashvili said at the briefing today that the fact of alleged pressure would be investigated by the general inspection of MIA, however, he also accused political opponents of attempting to discredit police.
Minister said the questions of the investigation towards Gochiashvili were not unusual, because, on January 4, he was among several other persons, who were at the house robbed a few days ago. He said cash and jewelry were stolen from the apartment and it was quite natural that he was interrogated. He also said Gochiashvili was accompanied by his father at the police office.
