Deputy Mayor of Tbilisi released on Gel 35,000 bail

Former deputy interior minister of Georgia and deputy mayor of Tbilisi Shota Khizanishvili was released today on a Gel 35,000 bail.
The lawyer of the deputy mayor made a plea for releasing Khizanishvili on bail, after the prosecution for him over one accusation was suspended in accordance with the amnesty signed by the parliament on January 12, 2013.
Prosecutor`s Office charged Shota Khizanishvili with false informing and obstructing to the activities of a political party yesterday.
The deputy mayor was so far charged with misuse of duties and illegal secret listening to telephone conversations.
The amnesty adopted by the parliament of Georgia lifted only one of the two charges from the defendant, so his charges have now increased to three.
Shota Khizanishvili was arrested on November 15, 2012.
