Chief Prosecutor makes definitions

28.01.13 15:11

Chief prosecutor of Georgia Archil Kbilashvili does not rule out to begin persecution of some members of the parliament, who ignored the request of the investigation and did not go to interrogations. The minority members announced each time they were summoned to the prosecutor`s office that they were prepared to answer any question of the investigation, but only publicly. Chief prosecutor spoke about the procedures, which may be applied in case the person, even the member of the parliament, refuses to answer the questions of the investigation.
`The only right they are granted by the legislations is the following - not to voice the information, which is tied with their work at the parliament. We have questions to these persons about the facts, which took place before they became the MPs and therefore, they were obliged to go to the prosecutor`s office and accept interrogation request. In such case now there is a pre-condition, that a person, who violates this law, will be prosecuted. Minister of justice is authorized to begin these procedures with the consent of the parliament. This procedure can be applied any time, when there is such a necessity, ` Chief prosecutor has defined.
