Transport professional unions promise to assist drivers on strike

The representatives of the Trade Unions of Georgia`s Automobile and Road Workers have announced that they are joining the process of negotiations between the municipal officials and the drivers of the route minibus taxis from today. Lavrenti Alania, the chairperson of the organization says they will do their best to assist the protestors and solve their problems as well as the problems of the passengers in the capital.
`We were out of the process until today officially, but today we have joined it and we are declaring support to the protestors and promise to do out best to solve their problems. Today, the board of the unions has taken a decision to negotiate with the drivers on protest and arrange their problems,` Alania said.
The drivers of the route minibus taxis have been on strike during past few days causing serious problems of transportation to passengers in Tbilisi. They have been negotiating with the officials of the Tbilisi municipal transport administration, but no official agreement has been yet made.
