61-year-old man accused of wife`s murder detained

61-year-old man accused of his wife`s murder could not recall details of the murder when he was detained in the village of Vachevi of Chiatura district in Western Georgia today.
The detainee could not also recall where he received a head injury and a leg fracture.
The police detained Avtandil Kurtsikidze when he was lying in a bed next to his wife`s body.
As reported, the police found a certain amount of marijuana in the bedroom during the detention.
According to preliminary reports, Avtandil Kurtsikidze`s wife had been killed for two days already when the man was detained. The woman had bad injuries in her head.
Fragments of the upper part of her skull are also missing.
Police presume the murder was committed with an axe.
Investigation into the murder is going on under the clause of premeditated murder.
Reportedly, the 61-year-old man accused of his wife`s murder has some mental problems. He was transferred to hospital. He also has a fracture in his thigh.
