Georgian FM addresses to 49th Munich Security Conference
03.02.13 16:30
Dynamics of Georgia-Russia relations, problems existing between the two countries and ways to overcome obstacles, - these issues were discussed at the meeting of former secretary of Russia`s security council Mr. Igor Ivanov and head of parliamentary committee for foreign affairs of Georgia Mr. Tedo Japaraidze in Moscow at Friday evening.
"If there is a wish, any kind of acute problem can be solved", Mr. Ivanov said after the informal meeting at a cup of coffee, which was held within the 49th annual Munich Security Conference.
Georgia`s Foreign minister Mrs. Maia Panjikidze also delivered a speech at the international gathering of top diplomats and defense officials in Munich.
"We believe it is time to make another step forward advancing Georgia`s integration into NATO. This will help us to further consolidate democracy building on the progress made, and will largely contribute to promoting peace and stability in the region. The firm stance of our global partners towards the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia, and call Russia to fulfill august 12 cease-fire agreement has been an indispensable political message in support of my country, and we highly appreciate this. Now, we have a unique opportunity to change the reality, transform Georgia and its immediate neighborhood into a region of peace, stability and development. In conclusion, let me once again call for strong, consolidated effort of international community, in order to achieve this goal"` - she said.
