Ministry of Internal Affairs warns Tbilisi mayor

Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia warns the mayor of Tbilisi to undertake compulsory measures against him in case he refuses to go to the police for testimony. The corresponding statement was published on the ministry website.
`Mayor of Tbilisi was summoned to the Old Tbilisi district police for interrogation; however, he did not to go the police thus violating Georgian legislation.
The investigation warns the mayor of Tbilisi, Mr. Gigi Ugulava in case he refuses to fulfill the obligations implied in the procedural legislation of the criminal code of Georgia and refuses to go to the police department for interrogation as a witness, his inactivity will be considered as a refusal to give testimony and he will face compulsory measures envisaged by procedural legislation,` Statement by the Ministry of Internal Affairs says.
Desipte the statement of the MIA, Mayor of Tbilisi does not intend to go to the police for interrogation. His statement was released by his speaker yesterday.
