Non-parliamentary parties have released an open address to chairperson of the Georgian Parliament Davit Usupashvili and the Diplomatic Corps in Georgia. The joint statement says that `the parliament of new convocation has adopted a law on Amendments to the Electoral Code of Georgia in Georgia`s Organic Law, also, several draft amendments to the constitution of Georgia has been also initiated. The reform of constitution and electoral code is also planned. `It`s notable that in parliaments of all previous convocations, a working group used to be set up to discuss constitutional and electoral amendments, which worked on the preparation of the package of amendments in advance, which was afterwards presented to parliament: in 2006-2007 it was presented with the mediation of OSCE, in 2009-2010 - by NDI, in 2010-2011 by IFES and etc. We consider it reasonable that a group of similar format (commission) should be formed again and it should be in charge of discussing electoral, constitutional and other amendments to the organic law, in which non-parliamentary opposition will be also involved,` the statement says. The statement is signed by Pikria Chikhradze, New Rights party, Paata Davitaia - European Democrats, Kakha Kukava - Free Georgia, Sergo Javakhidze - Fair Georgia, Akaki Asatiani - The Traditionalists Union, Giorgi Targamadze - Christian Democratic Movement.
