TBC, Liberty Banks deny negotiations with Russian banks

Two Georgian banks have denied the statement of the president, who said two largest Russian financial corporations have purchased TBC and Liberty Banks of Georgia.
`TBC Bank is not holding negotiations and does not have such a plan for the future to sell shares to Russian Alga Bank or any other foreign bank,` the official statement said.
President expressed his concerns at the meeting with journalists regarding the sell of TBC bank to Russian Alfa Bank and Liberty Bank to Russian Sberbank.
Director General of the Liberty Bank has also released a statement to deny this report.
`The information is not true. We are not negotiating with Sberbank in any form. Liberty Bank has quite ambitious plans for the development of its network and service improvement this year and we are following this plan,` Lado Gurgenidze said.
