Part of GPB staff supports dismissed director

One part of the employs of the Georgian Public Broadcast, GPB, the members of the initiative group, object to the decision of the supervisory board, which dismissed director general Giorgi Baratashvili yesterday. They are addressing the parliament to interfere in this problems and assist the GPB fulfill its public obligations normally.
These employs are also objecting to the work of the journalist Davit Paichadze, who is the anchor of the analytical shoe Dialogue. They say the journalist did not invite them to the show, where they could express their position regarding the process of reorganization in the GPB. Paichadze denies allegations and says their participation in the show would make it biased.
Supervisory board of the GPB assembled yesterday to discuss the controversy of the dismissal of political news department Khatuna Berdzenishvili, but instead the board dismissed director general Giorgi Baratashvili. Berdzenishvili says the decision is quite fair as he did not deal with conflict inside the company properly.
Dismissed director plans to appeal the board decision at the court today, asserting his dismissal was illegal.
Meanwhile, the GPB board will announce opening for the position of the director general.
