Parliament adopted resolution on foreign policy priorities

Parliament of Georgia has adopted a resolution on `Main Directions of Georgia`s Foreign Policy with 96 votes. According to the resolution, Georgia must not have diplomatic relations or be a member of any military-political or customs union of the states, which recognize independence of breakaway Abkhazia and South Ossetia Regions; Georgia will carry out a consequent foreign policy to provide firmness of the international respect to the country`s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
This is the document, to which the members of the opposition have also declared support after a few weeks of consultations with the majority. The resolution was adopted yesterday and it includes all points presented and demanded by the opposition.
The document of 19 points also says that Georgia`s foreign policy priority is integration into the European and Euro-Atlantic structures; Georgia will conduct dialogue with Russia in the format of the Geneva internationally mediated talks as well as in a bilateral format. The goal of the dialogue is to settle conflicts on the territory of Georgia and to establish and develop kind friendly relations with Russia.
Nine persons have been arrested within the investigation launched after finding the scandalous videos of human torture and sexual abuse. The videos were along weapons and drugs in a secret store in Samegrelo last week.
Vladimer Bedukadze, former employ of the prison, who obtained and released the scandalous videos of prisoners` torture last autumn, has published an open letter to majority MP Tinatin Khidasheli.
Transparency International Georgia NGO has released a special statement regarding the decision of the Georgian judiciary to free the author of the prisoners` torture videos Vladimer Bedukadze from criminal responsibility completely.
