Voice of America interviews Georgian Prime Minister
`Georgia needs no buffers in relations with Russia,` Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili told the Voice of America. In his recent interview taken by VOA correspondent James Brook, Ivanishvili announced that if the illusion that the issue of Abkhazia is used in Georgia-Russia relations as a buffer must be broken down.
`We had close neighborhood with Russia and this must be restored. As for our Abkhaz brothers, where we have to settle relations by all means, the only way to do this is only brotherly and friendly. Even on the level of articulation, we should not use the term `forceful`. To achieve this, we must build a powerful, democratic, economically strong and fair state of Georgia to cause their interest to co-exist with us and convince them that living beside us is better,` Ivanishvili told VOA.
