The Appeals Court has left the ruling of the Tbilisi City Court on the complaint of politician Salome Zourabichvili in force - Zourabichvili was refused to undergo registration at the Central Election Commission as the candidate for the president due to her double citizenship. Former foreign minister of Georgia, who now leads political party Georgian Way is the citizen of France and Georgia simultaneously. After the proceeding, Salome Zourabichvili showed her letter, which she was going to submit to the embassy of France on recalling her French citizenship in case she won presidential elections. Zourabichvili says the judge even had no question about her intention. Salome Zourabichvili plans to appeal the court ruling at the European Court of Human Rights. She also accuses the Central Election Commission of working with double standards - she learnt yesterday that the Central Election Commission did not take the same decision regarding the application of another candidate Zurab Tsitsuashvili, who also has double citizenship. Tsitsuashvili was registered by the CEC and now the next step he has to take is to submit signatures of supporters.
