NATO firm on its position on Georgia-Russia relations
NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen has reaffirmed support to Georgia`s territorial integrity and sovereignty. At the press conference held in Brussels today, Secretary General said the position of the Alliance in regards with Georgia-Russia relations remained unchanged.
`NATO`s position on Georgia-Russia relations remains the same. As you know we insist on full respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia within the internationally recognized borders. We strongly opposed to building those fences. Now there is not time for fences but building bridges to start the dialogue and find constructive political decisions. Building fences is against international rules and we urge Russia to fulfill its international obligations,` Secretary General said,
Locals of the village of Ghurta of Khulo district of Adjara Region are expected to hold a large-scale protest rally. They are urging government to investigate the incident which took place in the village on March 8, 2014.
