Tbilisi hosts 42nd session of BSEC parliaments
Tbilisi is hosting the 42nd plenary session of the parliaments of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation organization. As the representative of the president country, chairperson of the Georgian Parliament Davit Usupashvili delivered an opening speech at the event, which is underway at the hotel Courtyard Marriot. Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili is attending the session.
In his speech, Davit Usupashvili announced that the main objective of forming the BSEC from the very beginning was the peaceful, stable and secure development of the states of the Black Sea region and the commitment of the parliaments of the member states is invaluable.
`Black Sea region is composed by the countries, who very frequently share borders, share geographic locations, but not necessarily all the strategic objectives, which are in the best interest of their nations. But this organization has proved that despite differences in certain areas, all these countries are capable for cooperation to achieve their goals,` Davit Usupashvili said.
The BSEC session will be concluded tomorrow and the representatives of the delegations of the member states will hold a joint press conference.
