Gigi Ugulava`s attorneys will appeal the court ruling on his suspension as the mayor of Tbilisi and GEL50 thousand bail today. The Tbilisi City Court, which declined pre-trial detention, on Sunday ruled to suspend Tbilisi mayor Gigi Ugulava from his mayoral authority.
Gigi Ugulava was charged with misappropriating and embezzling 48.18 million laris of municipal funds to fund the then ruling United National Movement Party with its events between 2011 and 2012.
Ugulava says he will do his best to resume his authorities of the mayor, after which, he plans to sign resignation. Ugulava assessed the processses in his live interview with Courier P.S. last night. He did not rule out to appeal to the Constitutional Court too.
