Georgian Prime Minister meets with President of Israel
Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili met with the President of Israel Shimon Peres. At the beginning of the meeting, Iakli Garibashvili once again expressed his condolences for the death of the former Prime Minister of Israel Ariel Sharon.
During the meeting, the sides reviewed the existing friendly and cooperative relations between Israel and Georgia, and mentioned their readiness for further deepening of these relations. Particular emphasis was placed on the great friendship between the Georgian and Jewish people that developed over the centuries.
At the meeting, Shimon Peres expressed his satisfaction about the progress of Georgia-Israel Intergovernmental Joint Economic Commission and expressed his hope that the mentioned commission will be another forwarded step in deepening the Georgia-Israel economic, cultural and trade relations.
