Protestors of anti-government rally arrested in Moscow
A day before the opening of the Sochi Winter Olympics in Russia, the non-sanctioned anti-governmental demonstration in Moscow`s Red Square ended with detentions. Opposition activist Eduard Limonov was leading the protest. According to the official reports, the police arrested twenty demonstrators last night. The protestors were demanding the release of those eight activists, who were arrested by Russian police on the Balotnaya Square in 2012. They were convicted for attempting a mass uprising in the city and face 8 years in prison.
Locals of the village of Ghurta of Khulo district of Adjara Region are expected to hold a large-scale protest rally. They are urging government to investigate the incident which took place in the village on March 8, 2014.
Russian helicopters have violated Georgian airspace - several helicopters flew over the Georgian controlled territory from the occupied Tskhinvali Region yesterday and from the occupied Abkhazia today.
President of Georgia paid tribute to the memory of Georgian national hero, Zhiuli Shartava on his 70th anniversary. Giorgi Margvelashvili announced at the memorial today that by commemorating Zhiuli Shartava, he was also paying tribute to all, who fell in the tragedy of Abkhazia.
