NATO MC starts visit to Georgia
The visit of the NATO Military Committee to Georgia starts today. Minister of Defense Irakli Alasania has hailed the visit, saying it was very important for Georgia.
`The visit is very important as it aims to evaluate our military reformation strategy and the steps Georgia has made forward during a year and a half. I hope that the assessments will be positive as isn’t the first time Georgia receives not only high, qualified assessments but also support from NATO. NATO Military Committee is not a political body. Committee does not take decision on NATO enlargement. But their assessment will be a great factor which will encourage positive decision relating Georgia at upcoming NATO Summit,` - minister said.
NATO MC will pay visit to Georgia for the first time. The delegation of NATO Military Representatives will be led by Chairman of Military Committee, General Knud Bartels.
