U.S. President Barack Obama has called on Ukraine`s armed forces on Wednesday to stay out of the country`s political crisis and warned that there would be consequences for those who `step over the line.` Using his toughest language so far in response to a Ukrainian conflict that has drawn threats of U.S. and European Union sanctions, Obama denounced the violence and put the onus on Ukraine`s government to reach a peaceful resolution. According to the Reuters, U.S. authorities are discussing sanctions against 20 Ukrainian officials. Ukraine`s crisis was the main topic of conversation between the U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and his French counterpart Laurent Fabius. They said Washington would discuss sanctions against Ukraine`s authorities together with the West. Meanwhile, U.S. citizens demonstrate solidarity and support to the people of Ukraine. The activists assembled at Ukraine`s consulate in Chicago. They called on the U.S. president to take specific steps regarding the situation in Ukraine by imposing sanctions.
