Lawmakers to discuss Anti-Discrimination draft law

Georgian lawmakers will discuss the anti-discrimination draft law by the second hearing today. The MPs agreed at the meeting of the parliamentary committee for human rights last night that the discussions would continue despite the controversy around the project.
According to the regulations, the draft law should be primarily included in the agenda of the parliament`s session for today by the parliament bureau. Therefore, only after the bureau the discussions will start.
Both opposition and the majority are unanimous about the project, saying the draft law should be adopted in order to provide the protection of the rights of each citizen of Georgia. They also say the controversy about the project is caused by the misinterpretations by various political organizations or individuals.
