The Georgian, British Foreign Ministers meet in Tbilisi

Within the official visit to Georgia, British Foreign Minister William Hague has held bilateral meeting with the Foreign Minister of Georgia, Mrs. Maia Panjikidze today. The sides focused on Georgia`s Euro-Atlantic aspirations and the significance of the signing of the EU Association Agreement.
The meeting was held at the residence of the ambassador plenipotentiary and extraordinary of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. After the meeting, the two diplomats held a joint press conference.
In his speech, William Hague focused on the significance of Georgia`s foreign policy priorities, including the Euro-Atlantic aspirations, the country`s participation in the ISAF mission, progress in the human rights protection and the prospects of trade enhancement and economic growth following the signing of the EU association agreement. Hague said the UK was determined to further enhance cooperation with Georgia, including in the defence sector.
`I reiterate and reaffirm with pleasure that we want to deepen these relations further and we think that the establishment of the annual traditional dialogue will further promote our relations and we are treating all this very seriously,` William Hague said.
