NDI publishes results of political ratings survey
National Democratic Institute has published the political part of the public attitude survey conducted in Georgia last month. The research is based on the answers of about four thousand respondents.
According to its results, the most popular politician in Georgia is the Minister of Defence, Irakli Alasania, whose rating is 67%. The most popular person in Georgia is still the Catholicos Patriarch Ilia II with 96% of the respondent`s support. Prime Minister is the second popular politician with 61% of like rating. Kakha Kaladze, vice PM, Bidzina Ivanishvili, ex-PM, UNM leader Davit Bakradze have 51% rating; Labour Party leader Shalva Natelashvili - 44%.
51% of the respondents think that UNM is the strongest opposition party of Georgia; the second in this survey is Coalition Nino Burjanadze and Christian Democratic Movement with 8%; 4% consider the Labour Party is the strongest opposition party; 21% answered none.
72% of the respondents say that the local government elections will be conducted well or more or less well.
60% of the respondents plan to go the elections to vote for their favorite candidate.
On the question - who would you vote for if the local elections were conducted tomorrow, the answers were the following:
Coalition Georgian Dream - 48%; United National Movement - 12%; Christian Democratic Movement - 4%; Labour Party - 4%; other parties - 2%; none - 3%; 8% refused to answer.
GD candidate for Tbilisi mayor Davit Narmania leads the ratings with 39%; the second in this survey is UNM candidate Nika Melia with 10%; CDM - Democratic Movement candidate - 9%.
