The United National Movement will appeal the decision of the Marneuli district election commission at the Central Election Commission today. The decision was taken about the withdrawal of the UNM candidate of the region`s governor, Akhmed Imamkuliyev and was sent to the CEC last night. The opposition accuses the ruling party of pressure on the UNM`s candidates. MP Khatuna Gogorishvili from the UNM says a while ago, the speaker of the parliament, Davit Usupashvili talked to her and urged to withdraw Imamkuliev`s candidacy from registration as he was obviously winning the elections. The ruling party has voiced counter-allegations briefly after the argument at the Marneuli district commission. They call on the law enforcers to have adequate reaction on yesterday`s incident and accuse the opposition party leaders, Gigi Ugulava in particular, of pressure on the electoral administration.
